Five Blessings ·

Wu Fu Qi

Like Cheng San Qi (Morris variant), the board only places pieces at intersection points. Pieces can only be moved by horizontal and vertical lines; diagonal lines are only used to form a pattern.

How to play

  1. 01

    Board and number of moves

5 horizontal and 5 vertical lines, 25 intersection points. First player has 13 stones, second player has 12 stones.

  2. 02

    Buzi

Alternately place on empty points until the ball is full. The landing forms a pattern, so the opponent's 1 piece is crushed into a gray piece. One item presses 1 piece.
The gray stone occupies this point and cannot be placed anymore, nor can it be used as a chess piece.

  3. 03

    capture

After placing all the ash pieces, the ashes are removed. Items not pressed during placement are captured by quantity.
No one formed a pattern, so each picked a stone. The second player picked first, then the first player picked up again.

  4. 04

Five ways to form a pattern

Small frame: four children form a small square adjacent to each other.
Three oblique: The third son is on the oblique line, and both ends are on the sideline.
Four stars: The four stars are on the diagonal line, connecting two adjacent sides.
Five blessings: Five blessings are connected in a line horizontally or vertically.
Tongtian: Five sons connect two opposite corners diagonally.

  5. 05

    Move

The second player moves first. Moves one square along the horizontal and vertical lines, reaching the empty adjacent point. The diagonal line cannot be moved.
Get 1 piece when you get out of a new item. Even if you take out several items in one step, you can only eat 1 piece at most.
A piece removed from a pattern cannot move back within two steps; repeat forming a pattern within two steps; this move cannot be moved.
Pieces that have already formed a pattern usually cannot be captured. You can only capture if your opponent has only pieces left in the forming a pattern.

  6. 06

    Biaozi

If you block your opponent with no way out, you can take any of their pieces.

These rules match the version played on this site.
