First look at the level, then the exceptions
Usually, elephants, lions, tigers, leopards, wolves, dogs, cats, and rats are ranked from strongest to weakest. Strong beasts can eat beasts of the same level or even weaker ones. But rats on land can eat elephants on land, but elephants cannot; These two exceptions mean that even the most advanced elephants must watch out for the smallest rats.
"High level" doesn't mean you can capture every move. Rivers and traps change the actual positions where you can move or capture; first check the squares where the pieces are located, then compare their strength.
If there are mice in the river, lions and tigers can't jump over
Only mice can enter the river; Mice in the river cannot eat animals on the shore directly from the water. Lions and tigers can cross the entire river in the same direction and land on the opposite bank, but as long as there are mice in the river, friend or foe, they cannot jump along this jumping route.
The defender can use mice to occupy the enemy's lion-tiger jump passage, buying time to mobilize other animals. When the attacker prepares to jump, first check if there are mice in the water, then check if the landing spot on the opposite bank can be safely stopped.
What's the difference between a trap and a beast's den?
| Location | Function | Common misjudgments |
|---|---|---|
| The opponent's trap | After entering, combat power drops to zero | Advanced beasts can also be eaten by any animal from the opponent |
| The opponent's beast lair | Enter and win immediately | You don't have to eat all the opponent's animals first |
| His own beast den | Cannot enter | You can't use your own beast den as a foothold |
Traps around the beast den make high-level beasts that approach recklessly vulnerable. When attacking, you need to look for a path into the beast den and also check if the traps will be counterattacked.
Three steps of inspection before attacking
- Can this animal enter the target grid? Ordinary animals cannot enter the river; before lions and tigers jump in, they must check the mice in the water.
- If the target tile has an enemy beast, compare levels and check exceptions for Rat-Elephant, River, and Trap.
- Is the target leading to the opponent's beast den? If you can enter the beast den directly, prioritize this move.
